LaRita Stone Brasher, 70, of Valdosta passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016 at her residence. She was born on September 29, 1946 in Adel, GA to the late Neal H. Stone and Mary Edna Taylor Stone. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church where she faithfully served her Lord Jesus. LaRita loved her family, enjoyed cooking, serving meals and sewing. She loved spending time at the beach, the mountains and fishing.
She is survived by her husband, Herman Brasher of Valdosta, three daughters and two sons in law, Lori Brasher Everett (John) of Thomasville, Julie Brasher Blodgett (Ed) and Jan Brasher of Valdosta, five grandchildren, Coleman Pollock, Ashley Blodgett, Harrison Stewart, Anderson Everett and Owen Everett, two brothers and sisters in law, Derrell and Becky Stone of Valdosta and Steve and Scottie Stone of Fitzgerald, brother in law and sister in law, Barbara Brasher Crews and Ronnie Crews of Valdosta, many nieces and nephews.
LaRita was a 1964 Lowndes High School graduate. After working as a dental assistant for seventeen years, LaRita retired from the office of Dr. Patrick Powell, DMD. She then focused her sewing talents where she used her creativity in custom drapery and design with close friend, Whitney White.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at eleven a. m. at Northside Baptist Church with Dr. Robby Foster officiating. Entombment will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a. m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
