Laquita Tschetter

September 23, 1930 — May 30, 2021

Mrs. LaQuita Tschetter, 90, of Pompano Beach, Florida passed away on May 30, 2021, at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She was born in Valdosta, GA on September 23, 1930, to the late Andrew Hood and Tessie Hotchkiss Hood.

LaQuita attended Valdosta High School and Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville. She returned to Valdosta and went to work at C&S bank, where she worked for many years. She met and married Timothy Tschetter while he attended pilot training at Moody Field. Tim's Air Force career took LaQuita and their family to bases in California, Texas, South Carolina, Panama, the Philippines and Hawaii, and finally, Florida. Her love of travel, curiosity about other cultures and her shining personality, made her a perfect match as an officer’s wife. LaQuita was a member of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Ft Lauderdale, FL.

Mrs. Tschetter is survived by her children Terrie Tschetter (Brian Gerke) of Atlanta GA, Timothy Tschetter Jr. of Pompano Beach, Ericka Raines (Craig Raines) of Clermont FL, grandchildren Timothy F Tschetter (Kaela Pacitti), Tyler Wade (Jessie Conley), Casey Raines, Ashley Raines, great grandchildren Brantley Traniello, Gavin Tschetter, nephew Butch Burgsteiner (Jane Burgsteiner) of Valdosta, great niece Tracy Jones (Marty Jones), children Davis, Dylan, Ella and Mallory, other cousins and so many who knew her as Mom or Nan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Timothy Tschetter, her sister Edwina Burgsteiner and her husband Bill Burgsteiner.

Funeral services will be at 2pm on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the Carson McLane Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held before the service from 1-2pm. Burial will follow at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Naylor, GA. Memorials can be made to the organization of your choosing.
