Lamia Daher Mourad Moses

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lamia Daher Mourad Moses, who left us on April 7, 2025, at the age of 90.

Lamia was one of 9 children born to Daoud Mourad and Montoura Mourad on July 23, 1934. She was raised with her cherished family members in the Tannourine mountains of Lebanon, where her roots ran deep. She came to Valdosta in 1960 with her beloved husband whom precedes her in death, Solomon Moses, to whom she was married for 33 years. Valdosta remained her home throughout her adult life, where she raised her family and was a devout member of St. John Catholic Church.

Lamia will be remembered for her boundless love, faith, and the warm, welcoming spirit she shared with everyone she encountered. She enjoyed baking bread and making Lebanese cuisine to share with her loved ones, gardening, and spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Lamia is preceded in death by her parents Daoud Mourad and Montoura Mourad and siblings Najla, Adele, Hind, and Antoin.

She is survived by her siblings, Lila, Fadwa, Dahlial, and Damia; her three children: Louise M. Baskin, Ralph D. Moses (Donna) and Lynette M. Cooper; her grandchildren Melissa Castillo (Caleb) Jarrod Baskin, Kendal Baskin, Caroline Sadeq (Ray) and Cadee Cooper; and great grandson John Solomon Castillo. As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A rosary will be held at 7pm on April 24, 2025 at St. John Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be held at 11am April 25, 2025 at St. John Catholic Church in Valdosta, GA. A private burial service will be held at a later date.

The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of her late husband, Solomon www.lls.org/donate (http://www.lls.org/donate), St. John Catholic Church where she has been a proud member since 1960, or a tree be planted in her memory to celebrate her love of nature.
