Lambert E. "Pops" Holm

Lambert E. "Pops" Holm, Sr., 79, of Valdosta, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at his home.

Pops was born May 18, 1936, in Platte Center, NE, a son of the late Alexander Holm and Alice Ruhl Holm. In 1993 he started Pop's Auto Sales, Valdosta, later retiring to become the gopher and chauffer. Mr. Holm was a member of Providence United Methodist Church and Francis Lake Golf Club. Pops was an avid golfer, enjoyed horses and travelling in his red El Dorado. He was a fun loving man who enjoyed celebrating life. Pops was a loving and devoted husband and father.

Pops is survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Kathryn Holm of Valdosta; a daughter and son-in-law, Kim Holm Williams and Randy of Valdosta; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lambert Holm, Jr. and Tiffanie of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Jeff Holm and Val of Valdosta; two step children, Fred Carlo III and wife Ellen of Valdosta, and Delicia Folsom and husband Denny of Toccoa; seventeen grandchildren, Randall Williams, Jr., Kyle Williams, Gregory Holm, Jr., Lambert "Eddie" Holm III, Nick Holm, Madison Allen, Dawson Allen, Fred Carlo IV, Nichole Carlo, Seth Carlo, Eli Carlo, Elizabeth Folsom, Sarah Folsom, Carver Dahl, Chelci Dahl, Rylan Dahl and Gage Dahl; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Marlyn Ells and husband Bill of Town and Country, MO; a brother, Roger Holm of Williamsville, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marianne Smith Holm; a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory Holm, Sr. and Kari Holm; a daughter-in-law, Natalie Bengs Holm; a brother, Paul; and a sister, Audrey.

The Memorial Service for Mr. Holm will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2016, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Rev. Ray Yody and Rev. Matthew Yarbrough officiating. Interment will follow at Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to Hospice of South Georgia, 2263 Pineview Drive, Valdosta, GA 31602.
