Ladonna Adel Geiser English

June 9, 1931 — October 10, 2020

LaDonna Adel Geiser English slipped peacefully into the arms of Our Lord Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Melbourne, Brevard County, Florida. Daughter, Jennifer Anne English Arent was at her side. She lived a vibrant 89 years, 4 months, and 2 days.

She was born on June 9, 1931, in Genoa, Nance County, NE., the third child of Carl Arnold Geiser (1895-1936) and Adele Prudence Stevenson Geiser (1895-1980).

Life was hard growing up in rural Nebraska, but all persevered, accepting whatever trials came their way. LaDonna was gifted with a beautiful soprano voice. She sang in school and church choirs throughout her school years. She graduated from Mount Clemens, MI High School in 1949. She was working as a clerk at SS Kresge Dime Store where she met her future husband, Richard Ronald English, Sr. He was stationed at nearby Selfridge AFB. They married August 12, 1950, at Mt. Clemens, MI.

They were stationed at Chanute AFB, Rantoul, IL, where two of their children, Richard Ronald English, Jr. and Victoria Elizabeth English were born. In 1960 they received orders to transfer to Moody AFB, Valdosta, GA. Jennifer Anne English Arent was born at Moody AFB. They remained here, retired from the Air Force, and established a home and business, English Grooming Salon.

Their annual vacation spot was Jekyll Island, GA. Rain or shine, she would walk the beaches for hours. She never tired of the familiar scenery; this was her special place. Her pastimes were crocheting and genealogy. She was a member of Descendants of Ancient Windsor; Illinois Prairie Pioneer; and Pioneer Families of Nebraska.

Her passing leaves behind son Richard and daughter-in-law Lane of Valdosta; daughter, Victoria of Valdosta; daughter, Jennifer and son-in-law Jeff Arent of Melbourne, FL; grandchildren: Richard Ryan English and wife Keri; William Austin English and fiancée Megan A. Macfarlane; and Taylor Anne Vinge, all of Valdosta; great grandchildren, Matthew Connor English and Cameron June English, also of Valdosta. Pre-deceased by her husband Richard Ronald English, Sr.; parents Carl and Adele Geiser; brother Richard Carl; sister Elizabeth Gertrude Geiser Bolton Rankin. She also leaves behind nephew Lawrence Bolton; nieces, twins Carol Arone Lutz and Janice Arone, Barbara Arone Way; and nephew Donald Arone. Special friend, Louise F. Johnson of Valdosta. A dog-lover, she leaves behind canine companions Maddie (poodle), Willow, Rosie, and Breezy (Newfoundlands).

She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Fr. Brian LaBurt will be officiating the Funeral Liturgy at St. Joseph’s Chapel. The date for the Funeral Liturgy has not been set. She will receive a graveside service and be interred beside her husband at Jacksonville National Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
