Lacey Hawkins, 71 of Valdosta died on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born on April 9, 1935 in Sylvester, he was the son of the late Benjamin F. and Mary Francis Poole Hawkins. He retired from Colquitt EMC after 44 years of service. Mr. Hawkins was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church.
Survivors are his wife, Geneva Casey Hawkins of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Teresa Hawkins of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Pam Rogers of Valdosta; grandchildren, Cassie Comacho, Ben Hawkins, and Sam Hawkins; sisters, Odell Christmas of Albany, Evelyn Griffin of Moultrie, Louise Hiers of Hilliard, FL; brother, Irvin Casey of Valdosta and a number of nieces in nephews. He was also preceded in death by a son, Keith Hawkins.
Funeral services will be at 2p.m., Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Faith Assembly of God Church on South 41 with Reverend Travis Apperson and Reverend Gerry Russo officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
