L. C. Taylor, 78, of Valdosta, died Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Langdale Hospice House. He was born in Coffee County, GA on January 3, 1932 to the late Leon Earnest Taylor and Della Holton Taylor. Mr. Taylor was a retired Conservation Ranger with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and a retired Deputy Sheriff from the Lowndes County Sheriff's Department.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Westberry Taylor of Valdosta, six sons and four daughters in law, Freddie and Ginger Taylor of Hahira, Leon and Kathy Taylor, David Taylor, Carl Taylor, James and Kathy Taylor, all of Valdosta, Michael and Jodie Taylor of Odum, GA, fifteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one brother and sister in law, D. C. and Betty Taylor of Alma, one sister and brother in law, Lucille and Johnny White of Fernandina Beach, FL.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 1, 2010 at 10:30 a. m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Jesse Ogden and Reverend Gwin Jarriel officiating. A gravside service and committal will be at 3 p.m. at Wesley Chapel Southern Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery in Alma, GA. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, P. O. Box 1727, Valdosta, GA 31603 or to Quitman Church of God, P. O. Box 956, Quitman, GA 31643.
