L.A. CRUMLEY
L. A. CRUMLEY, 81, of Valdosta went home to be with Jesus on Friday, November 12, 2004 after a lengthy illness. He was born on February 17, 1923 in Tift County to the late Benjie and Rosie Harris Crumley and had lived in this area for fifty one years. He was a retired construction foreman and a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in World War II. Mr. Crumley was associated with Colquitt EMC for 40 years and a member of the Lake Park Church of God. He had served as Youth Director at Forrest Street Church of God for twenty years and a Sunday School Teacher and a Deacon from 1953-2004.
Survivors include his wife, Reba Crumley of Valdosta, two daughters and a son in law, Tena C. Raines of Lake Park, Jena and Keith Sandlin of Lake Park, two sons and daughters in law, Lloyd and Dot Crumley of Valdosta, Harry and LaVerne Crumley of Lake Park, 10-grandchildren, Lloyd Allen Crumley, Teona Crumley, Candy Ferguson, Andy Pearson, Sherri Crumley, Buck Crumley, Benjie Crumley, Danny Sandlin, Cole Sandlin and Joseph Sandlin, 12-great grandchildren, one sister, Mildred Gibbs of Tifton, two brothers, Harris Lee Crumley of Tifton and Gene Crumley of Athens, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Sunday, November 14, 2004 at Lake Park Church of God with Rev. Keith Sandlin and Rev. Virgil Brooks officiating. Burial will be held at 4pm, Sunday, at the Union Grove Church of God Cemetery in Eldorado. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Carson McLane Funeral Home.
