K.V. Gibson, 92, of Valdosta, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Langdale Place after a period of declining health.
He was born June 28, 1924, in Paradise, KY, a son of the late Jessie and Earing May Young Gibson. K. V. honorably served in the U.S. Army-Air Force during World War II, and had retired from General Motors as an Electrician. He was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church; he enjoyed fishing, traveling, and loved to be outside.
Mr. Gibson is survived a daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and Murrel Gremillion of Alexandria, LA; a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Becky Gibson of Lapeer, MI; four sons and daughters-in-law, Wendell and Wanda Cooper, Glenn and Ann Cooper, Wayne and Bonnie Cooper, all of Valdosta, and Terry and Kathy Cooper of Hahira; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Gibson; and by his second wife, Enda Marie Hall Gibson.
The Funeral Service for Mr. Gibson will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2016, at the Mausoleum Chapel of McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Mike Nelligan officiating. Interment will follow in the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Mausoleum Chapel.
