Kim Allen Tinsley (K.T.), 57, of Valdosta, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 27, 2013, at his home.
He was born October 3, 1956 in Valdosta, a son of the late Bernard Henry and Rounie Dell Allen Tinsley. K.T. attended Valdosta High School, was a diehard Wildcats fan, and the #1 Georgia Bulldogs fan. He was a loving and very caring father, grandfather, brother and friend to all. He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and was a proud Mason with Azalea Lodge #716.
K.T. is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, April and Brian Simpson of Taylorsville; a son, Michael Bennett of Valdosta; four grandchildren, Bailey Harper, Shelby Harper, Tinsley Simpson and Brian Simpson, Jr. (Bear), all of Taylorsville; two brothers, Donnie Tinsley of Valdosta, and Dannie and wife Debi Tinsley of Valdosta; nieces and nephews, Brandon and wife Julie Tinsley, Amanda Wright, and Debra Dell Tinsley-Powell and husband Josh, all of Valdosta; great-niece and great-nephew, Nevaeh Tinsley and Keagan Tinsely-Powell; an uncle, John Tinsley of Valdosta; three aunts, Nettie Allen of Lakeland, Ruth Tinsley of Cairo, and Juanita Allen of Lakeland; many cousins; his canine companion, Candy; and many dear friends, including Steve Kendall, Scott Register, Tony Dasher and Billy Sarco.
The funeral service for K.T. will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Rev. A.M. Anderson, Dr. Ernie Jones, and Mr. John Tinsley officiating. Interment with Masonic Rites will follow at Good Hope Cemetery, Naylor.
