Kenny Norris

Kenneth Allen Norris, 62, of Valdosta passed away December 7, 2015 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born in Valdosta on February 23, 1953 to the late L.C. "Preacher" and Julia Mae Dasher Norris, and was a lifelong resident of this area. A graduate of Lowndes High School with the class of 1971, Kenny became a combat veteran of Vietnam, earning him a Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. After serving in the United States Army, he began a career as a truck driver, a career that lasted almost 40 years. In his spare time, Kenny enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved his Harley Davidson motorcycles. He did bike rides for the Patriot Guard as well as his own travels around the country. Kenny was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed by his family.

Mr. Norris is survived by his wife of 44 years, Terrie Norris of Valdosta; two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Stephany Norris of Valdosta, Daniel and Melissa Norris of Valdosta; five grandchildren, Austin Norris, Jacob Norris, Colby Norris, Benjamin Norris, and Ruthie Mae Norris, all of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services for Kenny Norris will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2015 in the Carson McLane Chapel. Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
