Kennon Carroll Stephens, 77, of Lowndes County died Sunday, May 27, 2007 at home. He was born in Lowndes County in 1929 to the late Fred Herbert and Lorene Blanche Hooker Stephens and was lifelong resident of Lowndes County. Mr. Stephens was a Baptist, loved catching and eating fish and being with his family.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter in law, Don Carroll Stephens of Hahira, Christopher Dale and Amber Stephens of Lake Park, four daughters and three sons in law, Jannette and Rickey Tabor of Hahira, Annette and Andy Tabor of Valdosta, Sue Norman of Sparks and Melba and Wendell Tabor of Valdosta, 14-grandchildren, 13-great grandchildren, three sisters and brothers in law, Barbara and Olen Childers of Perry, Fla., Sybil and Tony Martin of Hahira, Phyllis and Jimmy Hanner of Quitman, two brothers and a sister in law, Harold and Polly Stephens, Ronnie Stephens all of Hahira and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern Kent Stephens, a son in law, Tracy Norman, two sisters, Laverne Griffith and Wanda Tabor and a brother, Earl Stephens.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Wednesday, May 30, 2007 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with burial to follow in Friendship Cemetery in Hahira.
