Kenneth Moore

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our father, Kenneth Moore, 91, of Mayday died Monday, September 12, 2016 at his home. He was born in Ft. Pierce, Florida on January 15, 1925 to the late Elias J., Sr. and Katie Bell Moore and had lived in this area most of his life. He was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Mayday. Mr. Moore was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in the Seabees in the Pacific. He was a member of the American Legion, a Mason and a member of the Valdosta Shriners.
Survivors include his wife, Nelma Whitman Moore of Mayday; his children and their spouses, Keith Moore, Rebecca and Tommy Kennedy, Jenny and Randy Jenkins, Ruth Flanders, Cheryl Brimer all of Valdosta; his grandchildren, Missy Byington, Brett Jenkins(Debbie), Brian (Jennifer) Jenkins, Russell Kennedy, David (Vanessa) Kennedy, Paula (Jeremy) Cooper, Andy Kennedy, Kelly Hosney, Kenny Brimer, Kayla Brimer, Katie York, Amber Flanders Petraites and her husband Michael, Sherry Jenkins; his great grandchildren; Garrett, Georgia, Gabby, Gannon, Gracie, Dillion, Isacc, Kaleb, Mayna, Marianna, Mario, Tyler, Taylor, Gavin, Rylan, Layla, Michael Kenneth, Mason, Dillion, Austin, Kali, Chloe; great great grandchildren, Garrison, Garren, Galie. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Frances Herring Moore; brother, Elias Moore, Jr. and sisters and brothers in law, Arnita and Johnny Burch, Louise and Lonnie Dawkins, Doris and Harry McMillan; son in-law Fabian Flanders.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Friday, September 16, 2016 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Countryman and Rev. Wayne Boykin officiating.
