Kenneth (Kenny) Pitts

Kenneth "Kenny" Pitts, 66, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at South Georgia Medical Center.

Kenny was born July 17, 1944 in Jacksonville, FL, a son of the late Roy J. and Helen L. Oliver Pitts. He served in the U.S. Army, and had been employed as a Certified Welder by many local businesses. Kenny loved spending time with his son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, he enjoyed family get-togethers and cooking. He was a very giving person, loved kids, hunting, fishing, camping, and he liked to be busy.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Loretta Pitts of Valdosta; four grandchildren, Brittany and Husband Justin Davis, Heather and husband Clint Warren, Jessica Pitts and Dylan Durham, all of Valdosta; two great-grandchildren, Emma Grace Warren and Brantley Davis; two sisters, Diane DeVane of Valdosta, and Robin Pitts of Marianna, FL; two brothers, Robert Clay Pitts of Panama City, FL, and Gary C. Pitts of Quitman; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Kylie Brook, a sister, Sharon A. Williams, brother-in-law, Bruce A. Williams, and nephew, Wade A. Williams.

In keeping with Kenny's wishes, cremation will take place. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Kenny at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011, at the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Schappaugh officiating.
