Our beloved husband and father, Kenneth (Ken) Isaac Boyette was born on September 10, 1929 at home in Hahira to the late Noah A. and Armetta Johnson Boyette. He graduated from Hahira High School and attended Trevecca Nazarene College in Nashville, Tennessee for two years, where he met his wife Grace Virginia Kercher. They married on June 30, 1952 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and later moved back to Hahira where he farmed with his father, Noah A. Boyette. Ken and his brother, Bryant Boyette moved to Warner Robins and founded Boyette Electric Service Company in 1968 as electrical contractors and first Carrier Air Conditioning dealership in the Warner Robins area. After his retirement in 1995, he and his wife returned to live in Hahira. His deep love and faith in God was evident in his everyday life. He passed away Saturday evening, April 26, 2008 at his home in Hahira.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Virginia Kercher Boyette of Hahira, two sons and a daughter in law, Kenneth Paul and Suzanne Boyette of Fredericksburg, VA. and Keith Stephen Boyette of Warner Robins, a daughter and son in law, Rebecca Grace Boyette Dollar and Jeff Dollar of Franklin, TN., grandchildren, Anna Boyette Campbell and her husband, Tom, Jesse Lee Boyette, Lydia Ann Boyette, Sarah Nicole Boyette, Bethany Grace Dollar, Joel Mark Christopher Dollar, David Johnathan Boyette, Abigail Rose Boyette and Audrey Marie Boyette, great granddaughter, Emma Rose Campbell, three sisters and a brother in law, Ruth Boyette Jefferson of Adel, Jewell Boyette Hall of Hahira, Sara Boyette Layton and Tom Layton of Lithia Springs, Ga. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Lee Boyette, two brothers, Noah Lamar Boyette and Bryant Johnson Boyette a sister, Dorothy Boyette Nichols .
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the First Church of the Nazarene with burial to follow in the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home and on Wednesday at the church from 1pm until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, 1619 Lee Street, Valdosta, Ga 31601 or the First Nazarene Church, 300 Lois Dr., Warner Robins, Ga 31093.
