�Chief� Kenneth Gunn MacLeod, CMSGT USAF, Retired, of Hahira, died January 6, 2010, in Gainesville, Florida, after a brief illness. Born March 14, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Annie MacDonald MacLeod. Although born in the United States, �Chief� was raised in Stornoway on the Isle-of-Lewis, Scotland. He entered into the British Army for 3 years, afterward he joined the United States Air Force, where he enjoyed a long and distinguished career of 30 years. His time in the Air Force took him to several states and countries including Germany, France, England, Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan and Thailand. His final tour of duty brought him to Moody Air Force Base where he was Wing Senior Enlisted Advisor. �Chief� was well loved and well liked by all who knew him.
Preceded in death by his wife, Christina Ann MacAulay MacLeod., he leaves his children, Robert MacLeod (Nancy) of Tampa, Florida, and Norma Brown (Ashley) of Hahira; grandchildren, Colleen and Christina Wood and Scotia and Lorcan Sanders-MacLeod; his brothers and sisters, Flora MacLeod, Murray (Daisy) MacLeod, Calumn MacLeod, Colin (Lorna) MacLeod, Ann (John) MacDonald, Eleanor (John) Morrison all of Stornoway, Scotland, Innes (Anne) MacLeod of Sterling, Scotland, Murdo (Sheila) MacLeod of Melbourne, Australia, Isabelle Koch of Oklahoma; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2009, in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Reverend Jim Schappaugh will officiate. Military Honors and burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Carson McLane Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 6 � 8 p.m. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com.
