Kelcy Eudene Folsom

Kelcy Eudene “Dean” Folsom, 84, died on Tuesday, November 23, 2004, at his home in Lake Park. Born in Hahira on December 31, 1919, he was the son of the late Thomas Herbert and Nona Harris Folsom. Mr. Folsom was an Army Veteran of World War II, having fought in the European Theatre of Operations. He retired from Lowndes County Schools after 28 years, having served as Transportation Director and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Sellars Folsom of Lake Park; two daughters and sons in law, Gwen and Tommy Strom of Lake Park, Cindy and Brian Morris of Fitzgerald; two sons and daughters in law, Ronnie and Ann Folsom of Canton, Tommy and Paula Folsom of Hahira; eight grandchildren, Chris Strom of Valdosta, Chase Folsom, Neely Folsom both of Canton, Mitch (Cathy) Folsom and Marianne (Ike) Register of Hahira, Ryan Morris of Cocoa Beach, FL, Amy (Josh) Killough of Anderson SC and Christina Morris of Fitzgerald; three great grandchildren, Mary Grace Strom of Valdosta, Hunter Folsom of Hahira and Jessica Killough of Anderson SC. Also surviving are two sisters, Frances (Luthur) Touchton of Alexandria, LA, Marjorie Langhorst of Cincinatti, OH; and two brothers, Norris Folsom of Detroit, MI, Harold Folsom of Kingsport, TN.

Funeral Services for Mr. Folsom will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2004 at Carson McLane Funeral Home. Rev. Roscoe Bennett will officiate. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
