Kay Jones Fleming, 75, of Valdosta passed away July 7, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born July 25, 1938 in Albany, GA to the late Oliver and Viola Foster Jones and had lived in Valdosta since 1963. Mrs. Fleming received her education and was an honor graduate of Albany High School, The University of Georgia, and Valdosta State College. She was a star teacher and teacher of the year at North Brooks Elementary School where she taught for over twenty years until her retirement. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and traveling especially to national parks around the country, Yosemite being her favorite.
Survivors include her husband of fifty seven years, George Marshall Fleming of Valdosta; a son, George Marshall Fleming Jr. of Valdosta; a daughter, Terry Fleming of Valdosta; two grandchildren, Tara Fleming and George Marshall Fleming III both of Valdosta; four sisters, Theresa Moore (John) of Newton, GA, Beth Carroll (Allen) of Tarrytown, GA, April West (Kyle) of Newton, GA, Krista Sharp of Nashville, TN; her mother Alise Drennon of Newton, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Viola Foster Jones; her daughter, Marsha Fleming; and her brother, David Miller

Services for Kay Jones Fleming will be held Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 3 pm in the Carson McLane Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm.
