Katie M. Sharp

Katie M. Sharp, 65, of Lake Park, died Thursday, June 10, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Columbus, MS on August 21, 1944 to the late Clarence Melbern Smith and Willie Mae Pickle Smith. Mrs. Sharp was owner and operator of Katie’s General Store. She enjoyed Atlanta Braves baseball and New Orleans Saints football. Mrs. Sharp loved her grandchildren and was active in the community.

She is survived by her husband, George Sharp of Lake Park, two sons and one daughter in law, Richard and Summer Jeans of Statenville and Greg Sharp of Lake Park, one daughter, Angie Sharp of Lake Park, four grandchildren, Carlen Scott and Ruby Jeans of Statenville, India Sharp of Oklahoma City, OK and Sebastian Sharp of Lake Park, one sister and brother in law, Gladys and Tommy Wharton of Columbus, MS. Mrs. Sharp is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Bill Smith.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, June 13, 2010 at two p. m. at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park with Mrs. Gladys Wharton and Dr. Stanley Luke officiating.
