Kathryn Morris Hamby

Kathryn Morris Hamby, 90, of Clyattville, died Thursday, October 2, 2008 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Clinch County, GA on April 21, 1918 to the late Mortimer Lee Morris and Marion Lee Parker Morris. Mrs. Hamby was a retired manager for Parker Mathis Lunchroom and a member of the First Church of God.

She is survived by five daughters and four sons in law, Peggy Wisenbaker of Valdosta, Patsy and Bobby Sutton of Palatka, FL, Dianne and Fred Wright of Hiawassee, Joyce and Derrell Tomlinson of Mayday, Kathy and Wayne Stringer of Valdosta, one son and daughter in law, Jimmy and Betty Hamby of Nashville, TN, thirteen grandchildren, Leah Lehman (Scott), Gina Colson (Wendy), Ann French (George), Karen Schuster (Kurt), Michael Sutton (Dawn), Jennifer Khan (Harith), Brian McCann (Karen), Lori Tenery (Ryan), Melly Ayers (Andy), Crecia Jones (Mike), William Hamby, Tiffany Bodge (Ryan), David Stringer (Becky), twenty four great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and one sister, Mae Chronister of Atlanta. Mrs. Hamby is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin D. Hamby, one son, Johnny Hamby, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 6, 2008 at three p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
