Kathleen Herring Bass

Kathleen Herring Bass, 90, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born in Barretts in Lowndes County on December 11, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Coma Cooper Herring. Mrs. Bass was a retired bookkeeper. She had worked for several area businesses, including, M.E. Thompson Real Estate and Insurance, Isaac Kilgore Plumbing, and S C Barker Construction Company. She was active in the Eastern Star and was a faithful member of her church, Crossroads Baptist.
Survivors are her son and daughter in law, Mike and Karen Bass of Lake Park; grandchildren and their spouses, Mike and Kloan Bass of Hahira, Clint Bass and his fiancé, Michele Johnson, and her children Aliyah, Cam, and Andre of Lake Park, Kayla and Michael Pesce of Chattanooga, TN; greatgrandchildren, Alyson Bass of Miami, FL, Kaitlyn Bass of Hahira, Kinsley Pesce of Chattanooga, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ransom Bass, great granddaughter, Reagan Pesce, four siblings, Hazel Blackburn, Remer Herring, Frank Herring and Frances Moore.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Dr. Ken Alford will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
