Kathleen (Cathy) H. Corbett, 62, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013, at her home after a short illness. She was born in East St. Louis, IL, on February 6, 1950, and was the daughter of the late William D. Newberry and Mildred Elizabeth Baltus Newberry. Mrs. Corbett was a teacher for the Echols County Board of Education and loved her children at school. She was a member of Antioch Church, where she was a song leader, Sunday School teacher and church secretary; her greatest joy was serving the Lord.
Mrs. Corbett's survivors include her husband, Pastor Michael R. (Mickey) Corbett and her son Zachary Michael (Zack) Corbett, both of Lake Park; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Patsy Newberry of Murfreesboro, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Russell Bland of Clyattville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harry Corbett, Ellis and Diane Corbett and Roger and Phyllis Corbett; sister-in-law, Joyce Corbett all of Lake Park; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Billy Corbett
Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Lake Park Church of God with Pastor Mickey Corbett and Mr. Zack Corbett officiating. Burial will follow at Enoch Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from 6-8 pm, at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home. Mrs. Corbett preferred donations be made to the Antioch Church Building Fund, 1564 Sardis Church Rd., Lake Park, GA 31636 in honor of her Lord.
