Kathlean Hall Strickland, 94, of Valdosta died Saturday, March 4, 2017. She was born in Donalsville, Georgia on April 23, 1922, the oldest of twelve children born to the late John Harvey and Lillie Mae Lynn Hall. Mrs. Strickland was a member of the Antioch Christian Church in Echols County. She was a strong faithful Christian, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who lived by God's word.
Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Barbara and Earl Lovett of Valdosta; two sons and daughters in law, Lacy and Dorothy Strickland, Carlton and Martha Strickland all of Valdosta; a son in law, Larry Cardwell of Valdosta; five grandchildren and their spouses, Jamie and Jamie Leigh Lovett of Hoschton, GA, Rhonda and Lee Arnold of Valdosta, Tammy and Blair Beauchamp of Trenton, FL, Vance and Diane Strickland of Orlando, FL, Jeri Cardwell of Valdosta; 7-great grandchildren; one sister, Agnes Fountain of Climax, GA; three brothers and sisters in law, Paul and Debra Hall of Summerville, SC, Randall and Nell Hall, Tommy and Pearl Hall all of Cairo, GA; numerous nieces and nephews; a special thanks to her caregiver, Janie Hemby for all her love and support. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Z. Strickland; a daughter, Wynette Cardwell and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in the chapel of the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park with Pastor Mickey Corbett and Pastor Zach Corbett officiating. Burial will follow in the Corinth Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5-7pm at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home.
