Katherine N. Bell

Katherine N. Bell, 87, of Valdosta died Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Fellowship Home. She was born on July 10, 1925 to the late John Lee and Florrie Nelson and had lived in Valdosta for the past twenty eight years. Mrs. Bell was a member of the Bemiss United Methodist Church where she served as organist for many years. She was a lifelong accomplished musician, a piano teacher for many years and ministered at the nursing homes with her music.

Survivors include two daughters and sons in law, Karen and Louis Chester of Valdosta, Deborah and Bob Harrold of El Centro, Calif., grandchildren, Pam Wimer, Jennifer Doub both of Valdosta, Teal and Andy Smith, Heather and Chris Forbes, Clint Briley all of Richardson, TX., Jessica and Rob Fram of Brea, Calif., Erica and Peter Ostrom of Great Lakes, IL, great grandchildren, Kristen Rock, Tyler Rock, Madison Smith, Morgan Smith, Grayson Forbes, Logan Doub, Ashlyn Briley, Chris and Chad Wimer, Laci and Norman Moore, Sheena Boykin, Julia Ostrom, Anna Ostrom, Jack Ostrom, Gage Boykin, Matthew Moore, Kayla Moore, Kelsey Moore, Andrew Moore and a wide extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Bell, her daughter, Brenda Briley, a sister, Macy Bailey and a brother, Robert Nelson.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, June 22, 2013 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Howard officiating. Burial will be held at 1pm, Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida with Rev. Debbie Cone officiating.
