Karen B. Greenway, 66, of Valdosta died on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at South Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born in Michigan City, Indiana on February 25, 1946 to the late Richard and Beryl Benford. She retired after 25 years from Bank of America as a mortgage lender and she was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her son, John Greenway III of Carrollton, Texas; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kelly Rivera and Kerri and John Saubert all of Valdosta; 5 grandchildren, Kristin Rivera of Columbus, Georgia, Dustin Rivera and his fiancée Meghan Hutton of Valdosta, Mikhael Howard of Dallas, Texas, Katelyn Greenway and Griffin Saubert both of Valdosta; one great-grandchild, Hadley Rivera of Valdosta; an aunt, Eleanor Benford of Michigan City, Indiana; her furry friend, Oscar. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Greenway, Jr., and her mother-in-law, Juanita Greenway Parker.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 12, 2012 at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
