Karel Lee White, 20, of Valdosta, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015, at her home due to a sudden illness. Born in Elkhart, Indiana, on January 18, 1995, she was a student at Park University majoring in Early Childhood Education. Karel loved to write poetry, listen to Country and Christian music, she loved the beach, enjoyed camping and spending time with Kitty and Cookie. Most of all Karel loved being surrounded by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Leon White, and most recently her father, Stephen White. She will be greatly missed by her mother, Karen White, brother, James White of Valdosta, sister, Brenna Lowell of Mexico, Missouri, brother, Jeremiah McDonald of Holt Summit, Missouri, sister, Laryssa Ann Recker of Mitchell, South Dakota, maternal grandparents, Lefty and Sherry Lancaster of Hermon, Maine, paternal grandmother, Elizabeth White of Winthrop, Maine, her Uncle Kevin, Uncle Chris, Aunt Susan, nieces, Haleigh and Izzy, several cousins, special family and friends, Dawn and Steve Coleman, Rebecca Danielski, Austin Danielski and Tucker Smith, lastly very special friends, Ally Wagner, Daryl Ragsdale, "Her Boys", Eli Howell and Tyler Richardson; and other family and friends. When we remember the sparkle in Karel's eyes and her infectious smile may we also remember her favorite Bob Marley lyric, "You just can't live in that negative way, make way for the positive day."
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend Ed Thomas will officiate and the eulogy will be given by Marcia Gill. Family will meet with friends on Friday at the funeral home beginning at 1:30 p.m. until service time. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
