Justin Taylor Hobdy

Justin Taylor Hobdy, 21, of Valdosta, died on Sunday, June 12, 2005, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born in Valdosta on August 13, 1983, Justin was a 2002 Graduate of Valwood High School where he lettered in Football, Baseball and Track. He was selected for the All State Football Team and played in the All Star Game. In 1999 he was on the Valwood State Championship Football Team. Justin was presently an accounting major at Valdosta State Univeristy. He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.

Survivors are his parents, Cooley and Debbie Hobdy, brothers, John Hobdy and Josh Hobdy of Valdosta; special friend, Nicole Richard of Boston, MA; maternal grandparents, Bob and Geneva Taylor of Valdosta, paternal grandparents, John and Mary Hobdy of Mississippi; aunts and uncles, Rex and Malinda Taylor, Robbie McDowell and Van McDowell, Alex and Deborah Green of Valdosta; cousins, Merritt and Doug Magee of Marietta, Madison Taylor, Travis and Taylor Wooldridge, Garrett McDowell of Valdosta.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at Crossroads Baptist Church. Dr. Ken Alford and Dr. James Walker will officiate. Interment will be at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Carson McLane Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Justin Hobdy Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o First Federal Savings and Loan Association, PO Box 888 Valdosta GA 31603.
