June Marie Wetherington

Marie Wetherington, 76, of Hahira, died Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at her residence. She was born in Irwin County on December 26, 1932 to the late Clifton Gustavious and Ethelene Tyler Sheppard. Mrs. Wetherington was a homemaker and a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Russell Wetherington, four sons and one daughter in law, Kelly Crosby, Russ Wetherington, Don and Becky Wetherington and Billy Wetherington all of Hahira, two daughters and one son in law, Patty and Billy Easton of Chesapeake, VA and Sandy Preston of Hahira, nine grandchildren, Jessica Carter and her husband, Ricky, Jimmy Giffin, Chris Preston, Missy Easton, Hayley Preston, Laura Crosby, Hannah Wetherington, Kara Preston and Megan Wetherington, four great grandchildren, Trevor Carter, Austin Carter, Skylar Crosby and Justin Preston and one sister, Erma Lee Daugherty of Hahira. Mrs. Wetherington is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Charles Sheppard and one daughter in law, Linda Wetherington.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 27, 2009 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira with Reverend Charlie Scarbrough officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Thursday at the funeral home.
