JUNE HILTON MILEY, 87, of Hahira died Sunday, October 30, 2005 at the Lakehaven Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. He was born on June 24, 1918 in Hahira to the late Tallie J. and Lola McDaniel Miley and was lifelong resident of Hahira. He was quiet easy going man of great compassion for other people who were not as fortunate as himself, always helping the poor, even if he had to deny himself of things he needed or wanted. Mr. Miley served in the United States Air Force having been stationed in North Carolina and Denver, Colorado. He loved his hometown, Hahira and was a member of the Hahira First Baptist Church. Mr. Miley was a loving, kind, soft spoken man who loved his family and playing his guitar and singing.
Survivors include his sister in law, Frances G. Miley of Hahira, two granddaughters, Melissa Vazquez and her children of Lakeland, GA and Rebekah Brula and her children of Clearwater, FL, four nieces, Marilyn M. Brady of Hahira, Diane M. Felts of Gainesville, Fla., Susan M. Prescott of Panama City, Fla., Kathy M. Beverly of Flowery Branch, GA., one nephew, Woody Miley of Hahira, and a friend, Inez Hosey of Hahira. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tallie J. and Lola Miley, a son, David Miley, a sister, Dorothy Miley and a brother, Eugene W. Miley.
Graveside services were held at 3pm, Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at Friendship Cemetery with the Rev. Franklin McDaniel officiating.
