June Goddard Kent

June Goddard Kent, 86, of Lake Park died Wednesday, December 27, 2017. She was born in Smithville, MS on February 2, 1931 to the late Robert Alan Goddard, Sr. and Lottie Lucille Roberts Goddard. A beautiful person, wonderful wife and wise mother. She was a very caring and compassionate Southern Lady. June was a Red Cross volunteer at Walter Reed Army and Bethesda Naval Hospitals in Washington DC during the Viet Nam war. She served as a Pink Lady for ten years with South GA Medical Center. June was a cosmetologist and a registered consultant for Beauty For All Seasons and Beauty Control. She was a gifted Gospel singer and a ten year member of the Valdosta Golden Strummers. Her most treasured talents were painting landscapes in oil and sharing God’s Word in song and deed. She recorded Gospel music which her family shared at her funeral. June was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Lake Park.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Ed Kent, Sr. of Lake Park, two sons and daughters in law, Ed Jr. and Penne Kent of Lake Park, Greg and Ollie Kent of Northport, AL, grandchildren, Jacquelyn Kent Jaganathan (Jag), Carolyn Kent, Ed Kent III, JonAlan Kent (Katie), great grandson, Joseph Jaganathan, several nieces, nephews and other relatives. June is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bobby Goddard and Johnnie Goddard.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 29, 2017 at four p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne Hughes and Reverend Roger Mays officiating.
