Julia Mae Norris

Julia Mae Norris 87, of Valdosta, died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at her residence. She was born on January 24, 1924 in Lowndes County to the late James Henry and Maggie Elizabeth Zeigler Dasher. Mrs. Norris was a homemaker and a member of Sardis Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Terrie Norris of Valdosta, two grandsons, Stephen Allen Norris (Stephany) and Kenneth Daniel Norris (Melissa) all of Valdosta, five great grandchildren, Austin Bradley Norris, Jacob Allen Norris, Colby Luke Norris, Benjamin Christian Norris and Ruthie Mae Norris, one sister, Clara Belle Dasher Herring of Valdosta. Mrs. Norris is preceded in death by her husband L. C. Norris, one sister, Onnie Dasher Hughes and five brothers, Troy L. Dasher, Ollie S. Dasher, Leland H. Dasher, Linford Dasher and Gilbert Dasher.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Sardis Baptist church with Reverend Garvie Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
