Julia Lee (Judy) Coker

Julia Lee (Judy) Coker, 81, of Valdosta died on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Langdale Hospice House following a brief illness. She was born on November 23, 1933 in Valdosta to the late Lee Brantley and Anna Laura Joiner Meadows and has been a resident of Valdosta her whole life. She was a homemaker and a member of Providence United Methodist Church. She loved the simple things of life, working in her garden, helping others in need, and spending time with family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Raymond Coker of Valdosta; a son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Robbie Coker of Cherry Lake, Florida; two daughters and a son-in-law, Elaine and Charles LaHood and Susan Waters all of Valdosta; 9 grandchildren and their spouses, Jessica and Shawn Webb of Lee, Florida, Clay and Laura Coker of Pinetta, Florida, Tracie and Duane Kambies of Marietta, Anslie and Daniel Kim of Houston, Texas, Melissa and Ben Hayslip of Lebanon, Tennessee, Hanna LaHood of Atlanta, Laura and A.J. Christopher of Valdosta, Clint and Jessica Webb of Barwick, and Dr. Berrien and India Waters of Dubin; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Montyne Medders of Valdosta; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Steve Coker, and her great-granddaughter, Aubrey Laine Cooper.

A graveside service for Judy Coker will be held on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Matthew Yarbrough officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service. Flowers will be accepted or donation may be made to one's favorite charity.
