Julia (Judy) Pearce

Julia (Judy) Margaret Pearce, 69, of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at South Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness. She was born on February 1, 1947 in St. Augustine, Florida to the late James and Edris Phillips Becton and has been a resident of this area her whole life. She retired from Carquest after 32 years of service and worked in the bookkeeping and inventory departments. Judy was a loving and generous person and her happy and outgoing nature was a positive influence on friends and family. Judy had a talent for crocheting and would make many personal items for her family that she loved so dearly. Her spirit and presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Denise Pearce of Valdosta; the father of her son, Lynwood Pearce of Lake City, Florida; grandchildren and spouses, Christopher Pearce and his fiancé Frances Herring of Williston, Florida, Misty and Tracey Whitehead, Clay and Vanessa McMillian, and Samantha McMillian all of Valdosta; her sister, Sarah Becton Moxley of Valdosta; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Ann Becton of Moultrie, Mitchell and Wendy Becton of Loganville, and Hayard and Cynthia Becton of Tifton; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Becton. A special heartfelt thank you to Misty Whitehead who became Judy's caretaker, confidant, and right hand person during the last few months of Judy's life. Thank you Misty for all you did for Judy.

Service for Judy Pearce will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 2 p.m. the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Bussey officiating.
