Judy Feimster, 82, of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at her residence. She was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on February 24, 1934 to the late Eldred and Blanche Wynn Ashworth. After growing up the middle of three girls, she was thrilled to have two sons and four grandsons to fill her house. She was a homemaker who doted on her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church for over 50 years where she spent years decorating for the worship committee, sewing for the Christmas Bazaar, and singing in the Chancel Choir. Judy took voice lessons and gave concerts at civic events for almost 10 years. She also loved weekends with her gourmet club, traveling, meeting people, gardening and loving on her dog, Katie.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Terry Feimster of Duluth, Georgia and Byron and Patti Feimster of Vidalia, Georgia; four grandsons, Gavin Feimster of Duluth, Justin Feimster of Eugene, Oregon, Chandler Feimster of Valdosta, and Nathan Feimster of Vidalia; a sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Herbie Kirk of Douglasville, Georgia. Mrs. Feimster was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William Feimster.
A memorial service for Judy Feimster will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend V.L. Daughtery officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations be made to local animal shelters or to the Park Avenue United Methodist Church.
