Judith McBride DeWeese, 81, of Lake Park peacefully passed away at her residence on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Born in Huntsville, AL, on October 3, 1943, to the late George McBride and Blanche Echols McBride, Judith dedicated years of service as a preschool teacher at Georgia Christian School. Judith and her beloved husband Charles DeWeese shared a lifelong journey, having been married for 62 years. They both hailed from Huntsville, later settling in Georgia together where Judy was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Her passion for reading and cherished moments with family defined her character.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Charles DeWeese of Lake Park; her son, Chuck DeWeese; daughters Daphne Warren (Tim) and Christy Kilcrease (Jay); her grandchildren, Madison DeWeese, Mason Warren (Rachel), Gavin Warren, and Jake Kilcrease; her sister, Pat DeWeese; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, George and Blanche McBride; brothers Leroy McBride and Eugene McBride; sister Sharon Hodges; and daughter-in-law, Wanda DeWeese.
A service to honor Judy's life will be held at 2pm on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Dasher Church of Christ officiated by Mr. David Nelson, followed by burial at Dasher Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 1-2pm before the service. In lieu of flowers donations in her honor can be made to Georgia Christian School, 4359 Dasher Road, Valdosta, GA 31601.
