Juanita S. Collins

Juanita S. Collins, 98, of Raleigh, North Carolina and formerly of Valdosta, Georgia passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord on Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was born on March 22, 1915 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Marcus Fraser and Essie Lee Yates Sauls and moved to Valdosta in 1970 where she lived until moving to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2006. Mrs. Collins was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Valdosta where she taught Sunday School, served as a Foster Grandparent and a volunteer with United Hospice. She joined the Trinity Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina and worked with the North Raleigh Ministries.

Survivors include two daughters and a son in law, Betty and Harold Brady of Greensboro, NC, Anne Bokeny of Raleigh, NC, one son, Raymond "Pete" Collins and Dorothy Brown of Winter Haven, FL, 8-grandchildren, 19-great grandchildren and 1-great great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Collins, a daughter and son in law, Martha and James "Red" Alday, four brothers, Marcus Fraser Sauls, Jr., Dewey F. Sauls, John Wesley Sauls and Donald Lee Sauls.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, July 13, 2013 in the Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Mike Broadwater officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10am until service time at the Mausoleum Chapel. Memorial services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Trinity Baptist Church, 4815 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. Memorial gifts may be made to Trinity Baptist Church.
