JUANITA DREW BAKER, 87, of Hahira died Thursday, September 7, 2006 at the Lakehaven Nursing Home. She was born on April 9, 1919 in Hazlehurst to the late Whiteford T. and Bessie Turbeville Drew and had lived in Hahira most of her life. Mrs. Baker was a member of the Hahira First Baptist Church where she coordinated activities and worked in the Childrens Department for many years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, landscaping, raising cattle and farming her land.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Troy W. Baker of Hahira, two grandchildren, Shannun and Dennis Canete of Hahira and Brock Baker of Jefferson City, MO., three great grandchildren, Chole Canete, Genevie Canete and Keoni Canete, one brother and three sisters in law, Kenneth and Nina Drew, Margaret Drew Boyette and Cyledia Drew all of Hahira, one niece, Rena Kay Rozier and numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry W. Baker and Troy Baker, Jr., five brothers and two sisters in law, Levonn and Phoebie Drew, Robert and Elizabeth Drew, Oris Drew, Hamilton Drew and Ernest Drew.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, September 9, 2006 at the Hahira First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Gordon and Mr. Cleo Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
