Juan Manuel Quiroga Salazar

Juan Manuel Quiroga Salazar peacefully passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024, at the age of 85 in Valdosta. He was born on June 24, 1939, in Peru. Juan met his beloved wife, Zoila Aurora Santos Lopez de Castillo and were married on June 10th in the 60's and in the mid-1970s they decided to embark on a journey together to the United States to build their family. Once their daughter Michelle was born, they returned to Peru and stayed 4 years until 1975. They opened a business for party supplies and worked as a salesman for Dupont in paints. They returned to the United States, and they settled in New Jersey where he worked 2 jobs: the Star Ledger and Globe products. In 1977, Juan and his wife welcomed their second daughter Patricia into this world. In 1985, they relocated to central Florida, where Juan dedicated 20 years of service to Disney before retiring. Together, they relocated to Valdosta in 2005 which was home until his passing on August 2nd, 2024. 

He was a loving and dedicated family man who found joy in supporting and cherishing his family. He loved watching old Hispanic movies and travelling with his daughter and her family.

Mr. Quiroga Salazar is survived by his children, Michelle Alden, of Valdosta, Jason Alden, of Valdosta, and Patricia Alonso of Marietta, GA; his grandchildren, Alex Alden, of Valdosta, Ashley Alden, of Tifton, Eva Torres, of Live Oak, Veronica Torres, of Live Oak, and Jasmine Torres, of Marietta; and 8 great grandchildren; and his brother Ulises Quiroga, of Peru.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, August 8th, 2024 at McLane Riverview Mausoleum. Condolences may be shared at www.mclanecares.com.
