Joyce Griner Knight

Joyce Griner Knight, 81, of Lake Park passed away peacefully to Heaven on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at South Georgia Medical Center surrounded by her family as her husband was praying for her and her family. She was born on July 14, 1932 in Quitman as the youngest and tenth child of Joseph Henry and Clevie Solomon Griner. Mrs. Knight was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church. On April 29, 1950 she married Auther E. Knight and they enjoyed sixty three years of marriage.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. Auther E. Knight of Lake Park, six daughters and four sons in law, Christy and Alex Griffin of Henando, FL, Nina and Greg Jones of Thomasville, Theresa Knight of Tallahassee, FL, Debbie Mays Kolnik and Tim Kolnik of Ballground, GA, Paula Knight, Beth and Ricky Weeks all of Valdosta, 12-grandchildren, 20-great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews and their families.

Funeral services will be held at 10am, Tuesday, August 6, 2013 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Chip Ray and Rev. Garvey Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
