Joyce Joyner, 73, of Brooks County, died Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 8 a. m. at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born on October 13, 1934 in Enterprise, AL to the late Frank Augustus and Gladys Lucille Riley Carr. Mrs. Joyner was a homemaker and a member of Providence United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of forty three years, Carroll Joyner, one daughter, Caroline Joyce James, two sons, John C. Joyner, Jr., all of Brooks County and Jeffrey Harder of Milledgeville, two grandchildren, Elizabeth Touchton and Robert Touchton, two great grandchildren, Cole Freeman and Shane Freeman, two brothers, William Carr of Fayetteville, NC and Michael Carr of Panama City, FL. Mrs. Joyner is preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 30, 2007 at eleven a. m. at Providence United Methodist Church with Reverend John Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She will lie in state in the church for one hour prior to service time. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Thursday at the funeral home.
