Joyce Calvin (J.C.) (Buck) Plair, 82 of Hahira, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Langdale Hospice House with his daughters by his side. He was born on August 29, 1939, in the Cat Creek community of Lowndes County to the late Walter Edward Plair and Effie Louise Pittman Plair. Mr. Plair was a retired fire chief from the Hahira Fire Department and a member of the Hahira Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed working in his yard mowing grass and working with horses and other animals.
Mr. Plair is predeceased by his wife, Martha Dene Amerson Plair and is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and John Thursby and Wanda and Buddy Bumgarner, all of Hahira, and Linda and Tom LeGrand of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Heather Sermons (Tyler), Heath Bayman, Jessica Mullis, Shannon Caton, Tony LeGrand and Danielle LeGrand; great grandchildren, Knight Sermons, Creed Sermons and Ari Sermons; sisters, Juanice Faircloth and Barbara Scott; brother and sister-in-law, James Ira and Marie Plair; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 2, 2022, at ten a. m. at the graveside at Friendship Cemetery with Pastor Larry Hagan officiating. Burial will follow.
