Mrs. Joyce Ann Fant Swindle, 82, of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on April 22, 2022 at Fellowship Home after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Joyce Ann was born to Frances Evelyn Williamson Fant & Hansel Preston Fant in Ocala, Florida on October 7, 1939. She graduated from Ocala High School in 1957, where she was a majorette in the band. She married the love of her life, Bobby Swindle in 1957 and they moved their young family to Valdosta, Georgia in 1966. She enjoyed a fulfilling career and retired from Harveys where she worked as their produce buyer.
In retirement, Mrs. Swindle enjoyed gardening, playing cards, golfing, traveling, and spending time with her husband and their family. She was a member of Central Avenue Church of Christ, the Tuesday Morning Ladies Bible Class, and the Red Hatters Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Bobby Darrell Swindle, Sr., her sister Sherry Fant Mills, and a grandson Taylor Anthony Davis.
She is survived by her son, Robert Darrell Swindle, II (Laura) of Valdosta, her daughter Dana Swindle Boruff (Dean) of Valdosta; her grandchildren, Devan Boruff Martin (Justin), Aralee Jolen Swindle, Dane Alexander Boruff (Brooke), Alayna Swindle Patera (Mark) all of Valdosta, Darby Ann Boruff (fiancé, Paul Consolini) of New Orleans, LA, and Robert Darrell Swindle, III of Palm City, Florida; and her great grandchildren, Isabella Kate Mims, Audrey Elise Patera, Henry Harrison Martin, Mary Dean Martin, and Ansley Rose Patera; as well as many loved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service for Mrs. Swindle will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, April 25, 2022 at Central Avenue Church of Christ. Mr. John Klimko will officiate. The family will receive friends in the church from 12:30 to 2:00 pm. Entombment will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
