JOSHUA WADE DYKES, 29, of Macon, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from injuries received in an automobile accident.

He was born April 29, 1981 in Valdosta, a son of James (J.D.) and Sara Curnutt Dykes. Joshua graduated from Lowndes High School with the Class of 1999, from Valdosta State University in 2006 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, and was currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Logistics at Georgia College and State University. He was a civil service Inventory Manager at Warner Robins Air Force Base. On August 4, 2007, he was united in marriage with Ashli Shiver.

Joshua loved fishing, softball, golf, bowling, spending time with his friends, and was a member of Delta Chi Fraternity.

In addition to his wife, Ashli Shiver Dykes; he is survived by one son, Bralin Foster Dykes, at home; his parents, James (J.D.) and Sara Dykes of Valdosta; one brother, Zach Dykes of Valdosta; paternal grandparents, Big Mama and Big Daddy Nipper of Macon; maternal grandmother, Mamma Curnutt of Briceville, TN; aunts and uncles, Balinda and Rex Duncan of Macon, Sandra and Gene Herrin of Lizella, Judy and Danny Lynaugh of Dahlonega, Della and Jimmy Jackson of Dahlonega, Pam Soles of Gray, Addie and Don Cuttshaw of Knoxville, TN, Simpson and Lou Curnutt of TN, and Benji Edwards of Dahlonega; many cousins; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Steve and Nancy Shiver of Valdosta; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Amber and Kraig Whitmer of Valdosta; grandmother-in-law, Mary Foster of Valdosta; and his best friend, Donny Johns of Jacksonville, FL. Joshua was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Pappa Curnutt, aunt, Kathy Edwards, and uncle, M.C. Curnutt.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Redland Baptist Church with Rev. Jay Watkins and Rev. Don Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Redland Baptist Church Cemetery. Joshua's family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
