Joseph Willie "J.W." Walker

J.W. Walker, 82, of Warner Robins and formerly of Valdosta, died on Sunday, February 15, 2015. Born on May 25, 1932 in Ocilla, Georgia he was the son of the late Talmadge and Edna Walker. J.W. is now resting in peace being the wonderful Christian servant he was on this earth. He was a faithful member of Charity Baptist Church in Valdosta until moving to Warner Robins to live with his wonderful daughter and son-in-law. With pride and honor, J.W. served his country in the United States Army, and served as a Cadre Leader. Mr. Walker worked for and retired from Goodyear.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 61 years, Jean Miller Walker of Warner Robins; two wonderful children, Barbie Walker Penfield and her husband, Tom of Warner Robins, Terre Lyle Walker and his wife Christa of Valdosta; grandchildren, Lee Bertolino Penfield (Mike) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Carrie Penfield Johnson (Bill) of Warner Robins, Lance Walker (Ashley) of Valdosta, Jason Walker (Whitney) of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; two great grandchildren, Hannah Walker of Valdosta and Cameron Johnson of Warner Robins; brother, Harold Walker (Viviettte) of Ocilla, sisters, Betty Jane Walker Hendley (Loren) of Ocilla, Marilyn Walker Seagroves (Richard) of Midway; brother in law, Rocky Harris of Tallahassee, Florida; special sister in law, Mary Parrish and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Jack Walker, Jimmy Walker and sisters, Helen Harris and Dorothy Sirmans (Danny).
Graveside services will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at Hickory Grove Cemetery. Dr. Clyde Stokes will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:45 until 3:45 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home in Valdosta. Condolences may be made online at www.mclanecares.com.
