Joseph Gregory Dawson

Joseph Gregory Dawson, 42 of Valdosta, died on October 31, 2005 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born on December 22, 1962 in Valdosta, he was the son of David Guy and Mary Elizabeth Gray Dawson of Valdosta. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Morningside Baptist Church.

Other survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Juanita Shiver Dawson of Statenville; special daughter, Christina Royal of Statenville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Debra and Keith McEnaney, Mary Katherine Baker all of Valdosta, Sherrill and Danny Futch of Jacksonville; brothers, Stephen Van Arnold of McClennay, FL, Gary Timothy Arnold of Jacksonville; nieces and nephews, David, Daniel and Kaitlin McEnaney of Valdosta, Ronald and Patricia Ganzer and children and Trishdeanna and Ronald, Jr. Ganzer of Nashville, Crystal and Nathan Singleton and their son, David, Angela Brooke Baker of Nashville and maternal grandmother, Louise Gray of Statenville. He was preceded in death by grandparents, John and Flois Gray and Lila Dawson.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2005 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Schappaugh officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
