Joseph F. (Joey) Wetherington

Joseph F. (Joey) Wetherington, Jr., 64, of Valdosta died Monday, June 26, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Valdosta on July 16, 1952 to the late Joseph F., Sr. and Ella Howell Wetherington and was a lifelong resident of Valdosta. Mr.Wetherington was employed with United Refrigeration and a Baptist. He loved fishing and was looking forward to retirement to be able to enjoy his Harley.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Kay Wetherington of Valdosta; his son, Jamie Franklin Wetherington of Valdosta; three grandchildren, Ashleigh Madison Wetherington, Celestie Wetherington, Joe Franklin Wetherington; two great grandchildren, Easton Franklin Hoffman, Emily Claire Ellzey; stepson, Andy Halstead of Jackson, MS; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Friday, June 30, 2017 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Willis officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
