Jon Howard Leonard, Sr.

Jon Howard Leonard, Sr., 74, of Lake Park, Georgia, died at South Georgia Medical Center on Monday, March 11, 2013.
Jon Leonard loved life and loved people. More importantly people loved him. He valued integrity and held himself to a higher standard than he expected of others.
He loved God, he loved his country, but most of all he loved his family and close friends.
Jon was a lifetime member of the PGA and a hard worker his entire life. He lived life to the fullest and on his own terms.
He will be greatly missed by all those blessed to know him.
Born in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, on October 31, 1938, he was the son of the late RussellBailey (Rud) and Marie Meyers Leonard. Mr. Leonard served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 until 1961. He had worked as a Golf Pro at several clubs and he was co-owner/operator of Francis Lake Golf Club in Lake Park and co-owner of Warner Robins International Golf Club in Warner Robins.
Survivors are his wife Kay Leonard of Lake Park; daughter and son in law, LiAnne Martin and Gary Martin of Warner Robins; son and daughter in law, J.R. and Allison Leonard of Lake Park; grandchildren, Mary Leonard, Trey Leonard, Pate Leonard, and Shannon Martin; sisters and brothers in law, Carolene and John Chapman, Dee Dee and Don Trout of Robinson, Illinois, Bette Ann Schmidt of Midlothian, Virginia and Bobbie Murray also of Robinson, Illinois; brother and sister in law, John Russell and Rosa Bolton of Jasper, Indiana. Mr. Leonard was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Atchison and a brother, Jim Leonard.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at 6:00 o'clock p.m. at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park. Reverend Wayne Anthony will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home until 8:00 o'clock p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in memory of Jon Howard Leonard, Sr., to Wounded Warrior Project, 3343 Peachtree Rd.
