Johnson Warren Sapp, Jr., 80, of Lake Park died Wednesday, August 22, 2012. He was born in Broxton, Georgia on August 23, 1931 to the late Johnson Warren and Florice Thornton Sapp and had lived in Lowndes County since 1966. Mr. Sapp was retired as an engineer with Bell South and was a veteran of the United States Navy serving as a Naval Aviator. He was a member of the former Lee Street Baptist Church. Mr. Sapp loved fishing and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed nature and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Pat) Sapp of Lake Park, his son and daughter in law, Dr. John and Michelle Sapp of Macon, three grandchildren, Jason W. Sapp of Gainesville, Fla., Lea Mitchell of Statesboro, GA., Leo Mitchell of Atlanta, GA., his brother and sister in law, Carol and Lynora Sapp of Bogart, GA., nephew and his wife, Jim and Carol Sapp of Athens, GA., niece and her husband, Jane and Wade Stowe of Bartow, GA., great niece, Terran Sapp of Indiana.
Memorial services will be held at 11am, Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home Chapel, 3119 W. Marion Ave., Lake Park, GA 31636. Rev. Bob Willis will officiate.
