Johnny Wheeler

Johnny Earl Wheeler, 60, of Valdosta passed away November 2, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. A lifelong resident, he was born in Valdosta, December 13, 1953 to Alma Jean Sumner and the late Johnny Earl Wheeler, Sr. He was a Lowndes High School graduate with the Class of 1973. Mr. Wheeler loved his family and was a devoted member of Bemiss Road Baptist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and watching football.

Johnny Earl Wheeler is survived by his wife of 40 years, Vicky Lynn Wheeler; his mother, Alma Jean Sumner of Valdosta; his daughters, Leslie and Zack White of Hays, KS, Colby Wheeler of Valdosta; one son, Cory Wheeler of Valdosta; three grandchildren, Olivia White of Hays, KS, Alex Griffis, Madison Griffis, both of Nashville, TN; one sister and brother-in-law, Tricia and Steve Coody of Valdosta; one brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Janice Wheeler of Lakeland, GA. In addition to his father, Mr. Wheeler was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Wheeler.

Services for Johnny Earl Wheeler will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 2 pm in the Carson McLane Chapel. Burial will follow at Carter Cemetery in Echols County.
