Johnny Timothy Johnson, Jr.

Johnny Timothy “Tim” Johnson, Sr., 56, died from a sudden illness on Sunday, September 4, 2005, at South Gergia Medical Center in Valdosta. A native and lifelong resident of Valdosta, he was born on January 1, 1949, to the late Marvin and Hazel Carleen Johnson. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during Vietnam. He was employed with Davis Industrial Electric as a Master Electrician and was a member of The Vision Church. Mr. Johnson and his good friend Mark Lindsey participated in the Tailgaters Radio Club. He served as a father figure to many young people in his community. He was still young at heart and loved to bog his truck in the mud.

Survivors are his daughter and son in law, Frankie and Lee Barker of Valdosta, sons, Johnny “Grunt” Johnson, Jr., Spencer Timothy Johnson both of Valdosta; brothers, and sisters, Bill Johnson of Valdosta, Larry Mack Johnson, Linda Sue Wilson, Rusty and Cathy Johnson of Brunswick, Becky Johnson of Albany; grandchildren, Johnny “Lil Man” Johnson III, Eli Townsend Barker, Brody Coleman Barker all of Valdosta; uncle, Bobby and Nelda Buckholts of West Palm Beach, Florida; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Laura Williams, Waylon Tillman, Sherry Askew, Lisa Bernard, Mark and Mary Lindsey, James and Tammy Caldwell, Ashley Donahue, Sandy Moye Johnson and sons, Mike Dunn, Earnest and Rose Hall, Steve and Chris Wells, Keith and Donna Demick. He was preceded in death by a sister, Maxie Faye King.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at 6 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Pastor Franklin Walden, Jr. will officiate. The family will receive friends until 8 pm at the funeral home following the service on Tuesday.
